Charleston Favorites

It’s crazy to think Gabe and I have been living in South Carolina for 8 months now and we have loved every day of it! Charleston is such a magical town and it just keeps getting better. We have had so much fun exploring our new home state and trying out everything there is to offer. We have found some places that we really enjoy so I thought it would be fun to put together a list of some of our favorites.

Favorite beach

Isle Of Palms

One of our favorite summer time activities is spending the day at the beach and IOP quickly became our go-to spot last summer. The crowds are pretty large at any of the local beaches but if you drive a few extra minutes down the main street you can usually find a nice, quiet spot. We also love that during the off season you can bring your dog to the beach off leash!

Favorite Sweet Treats

Peace Pie

Located on Meeting Street, this sweet spot specializes in one of a kind cookie, ice cream sandwiches! The choices are endless and they are perfect on a hot summer day. Yum!

Republic Ice Cream

I’m always begging Gabe to take me to get ice cream and this sweet little shop on Sullivan’s Island is top of the list

Sweet Belgium

Build your own custom creation or order off the menu at this tiny King Street shop in downtown!

Favorite Brunch

Page’s Okra Grill

Hands down one of the best brunches I have ever had! I had the chicken fried chicken and I cleaned my plate! They are also dog friendly so bring your furry friends.

The Obstinate Daughter

This quaint spot on Sullivan’s Island is known for their unique Italian dinner menu, but their brunch is not one to miss. Their sticky bun and latte are the perfect start to the weekend.

Favorite Date Night Spots

Citrus Club – The Dewberry

Located on the rooftop of the midcentury inspired Dewberry hotel is this hidden gem. Gabe and I enjoyed drinks and appetizers on the rooftop with an absolutely stunning view of the city.

The Watch Rooftop – Restoration Hotel

Another fun place to the see the Charleston skyline is from the top of the Restoration Hotel. I recommend their drink “On the Lilly Pad” with the charcuterie board and crab cakes!

Charleston Fun Park

If you’re looking for a fun and kind of silly way to spend the evening, head here! Play mini golf, ride go carts, and throw ski ball for a good laugh. You’re never too old for an arcade.

Favorite Cafes

La Patisserie – Hotel Bennett

I adore the charm in this sweet little coffee & bake shop. Their coffee is made fresh to order and their bakery counter is filled with a variety of sweet treats like chocolate duchess and almond croissants.

Handy & Hot – Renaissance Hotel

This coffee shop is perfect to pop into for a quick coffee to go while walking through downtown. They are always so kind and can make most any drink you like.

Brown Fox Coffee

The best pumpkin spice latte I have ever had came from here and I am already planning for the day they bring them back next fall!

Favorite Deli

Goat Sheep Cow

This one of a kind deli has a different sub everyday made with fresh ingredients right from their shop. Call the day before to order, they open the doors at 11:00 and sell out within the hour!

Favorite Pizza

Coastal Crust

Who doesn’t love pizza, especially when it is wood-fired to perfection and you can enjoy it outside on a perfect Charleston day! We love to create our own with custom toppings and Leyla (our dog) loves to come here with us as well!

Favorite Girl’s Night Spots

Camellias – Hotel Bennett

Think pink, this is the perfect spot for a girls night. Champagne, chandeliers, and chocolate!

The Mustard Seed

I recently went here with some girlfriends for dinner and we had the best time. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the drinks are great, and the menu offers a wide variety that is sure to please everyone.

I can’t wait to keep trying new places and even revisiting some of my favorites! Let me know if you have been to any of these special spots or have your own that you think we should check out!

Never miss a post!
