Weekend Recap Vol. 1

Gabe and I recently headed south to one of our favorite places to visit family for the Labor Day weekend and had the absolute best time that is well worth sharing! We spent the last weekend of summer at my parent’s beach house near the famous 30A which is known for their beautiful white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and quaint beach towns.

We headed out of town on Friday morning and made it in time to pack up the coolers, grab the beach chairs and spend the afternoon soaking up the sun. On the way to the beach we grabbed a late lunch to take with us from Pizza by the Sea, one of my favorites in the area! The beach is one of my favorite places to be and if it were up to me I would spend (almost) every day there. Something about the hot sun, ocean waves, and salty breeze that I just can’t get enough of!

Saturday we slept in and had a lazy morning at home with my dad’s famous pancakes and coffee and then headed out for more fun in the sun. The water that day was unreal, it looked like the Caribbean.

Saturday night we had reservations at The Bay, a locals favorite with the best seafood and sushi I have ever had! Saturday nights they have live music and the view can’t be beat. We go here every time we visit and I always order the same thing, the Hot Mess sushi roll with fried cheese curds. Quite the combination, I know haha, but it’s a tradition my mom and I just can’t pass up. My dad and Gabe both ordered the ribeye steak and raved about it, not a bite was left.

Sunday morning we headed to Seaside to grab breakfast at Modica Market. The sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits and cream cheese muffins are my favorite. My parents took us to a secret little spot with chairs and an amazing view of the water to enjoy our meal and we took a walk around the Seaside square.

After breakfast I’m sure you can guess where we headed next…..the beach! We played in the waves, had a bocce ball competition and relaxed in the summer sun. That evening we headed to Angelina’s for pasta. I ordered the fettuccine and it was delicious!

For our last morning, Monday, we got up bright and early and headed to Charlie’s Donut truck in Aly’s Beach. They open up at 6:30am and close as soon as they sell out for the day so make sure to head here early! I promise it’s worth it! Gabe and I also walked down to Raw & Juicy to grab specialty coffees to add to our sugar rush from the donuts. haha

The weekend went by way too fast, like always, but we ended the summer in the best way possible! We had so much fun, loved spending time with family, and already can’t wait to go back. Summer may be coming to and end but I’m going to hang onto it for as long as the weather stays warm here in the south!

Never miss a post!
