Weekend Recap Vol. 2

I am a few days late in writing this buuuut we had the best time last weekend with some last minute company…..my mom and dad! They were on a mini road trip trying to escape the unusually cold temperatures in Florida and I begged them to drive a few extra hours to spend the weekend with us here in South Carolina and I am so glad they said yes!

They arrived Friday night and we made homemade tacos, played games, and talked until midnight without even realizing the time! I don’t care how old you are, you are NEVER too old for some quality time with your parents. I have always been super close with my mom and dad so living 8 hours away makes our time together extra special.

Saturday morning we all slept in a started the day easy with french toast and coffee in our pjs. The sun came out and we jumped in the car to explore one of our favorite neighborhoods, Old Village. We walked the streets and soaked in the vitamin D that was much needed after several weeks of rain here in Charleston. We stopped in a few local shops and walked down to the water to check out the beautiful view.

Then we headed downtown for a sweet treat at Sugar Bakeshop! You can never go wrong with a cupcake. I had the strawberry flavor and it was delicious We sat outside of the bakery to enjoy our treats and laughed until our bellies hurt. We finished Saturday with burgers and milkshakes at Sesame Burger and a movie at home.

Sunday morning was spent at Church and then relaxing at home catching up on life. My dad will never admit it, but he loves our pup Leyla. They played fetch the entire trip and I know they are missing each other this week. haha

We then took them to one of our favorite places for fried chicken in Charleston, Leon’s! It’s such a great restaurant with a fun atmosphere and it was a warm afternoon so they had the doors open and the music playing loud.

We spent the rest of Sunday being lazy at home, ordering pizza and playing one final round of games. I’m so glad they were able to come visit, even if it was quick trip! I already can’t wait to see them again and I am seeing a road trip to Florida in our future.

Never miss a post!
