Day trip to Savannah

Often known as the sister city to Charleston, just a few hours south is the charming city of Savannah, Georgia. My first visit here was for a girls getaway with my mom, soon followed by a trip to pick out my wedding dress, and then for my 1st wedding anniversary with my sweet husband of almost 3 years now. The beautiful parks, lively waterfront, cobblestone streets and spanish moss covered oak tress are just a few of the reason to visit.

We started our day with nothing other than brunch, which is becoming one of my favorite meals to go out for! We enjoyed the famous latte line up and delicious menu selections at The Collins Quarters. The service was excellent and they are dog friendly with plenty of outdoor seating.

We then walked up and down the character filled streets checking out the unique architecture, a few local shops and the many parks located through out the city. One of my favorite shops that we stopped into was Capital Bee Company. They have an adorable shop filled with all sorts of gifts and treasures. They also have the sweetest (pun intended) honey bar with a wide variety to choose from.

We ended our adventures with more coffee and the most delicious smores waffle at Mirabelle. This cute stop is located directly across from one of the most gorgeous churches in Savannah, The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist and I highly recommend peeking inside to see!

I would also highly recommend Tubby’s Tank House located a few minutes outside the city at the Thunderbolt marina. We enjoyed a seafood dinner on their large outdoor patio the night before and it was well worth the drive!

Although I am partial to our new hometown of Charleston, Savannah is a great weekend getaway spot for all and we are already planning out next visit!

Never miss a post!
